Rob Gibbs is the Global Supply Chain Security Director at AstraZeneca, where he designed and implemented the enterprise strategy that protects AstraZeneca’s products from illegal trade and theft across the global supply chain. A sector-leading security professional, he serves on cross‑sector forums to identify emerging risks and shape best practices, and has embedded security assurance into legal, third‑party risk, and global operations processes. Rob also leads AstraZeneca’s product donation programme for excess inventory, applying his security, project management, and logistics expertise to advance the company’s health equity and sustainability ambitions. Previously, as Senior Global Freight Manager and EMEA Freight Manager, he oversaw AstraZeneca’s logistics operations, set global transportation standards and performance, built cold‑chain capability, and enabled seamless new product launches. Before joining industry, Rob served as a commissioned logistics officer in the British Army, directing large‑scale transport, warehousing, and secure‑movement operations in the UK and overseas, and delivering significant cost and efficiency gains—including deployments in Afghanistan and Northern Ireland, and support to the London 2012 Olympics
