About Mani

Dr Mani Hussain is a leading voice in the regulation and governance of artificial intelligence in healthcare, bringing over 25 years of clinical, regulatory, and policy experience across the NHS and national oversight bodies. As Deputy Director for Provider Assurance at the UK’s National Commission on the Regulation of AI in Healthcare (MHRA), he spearheads national policy on organisational and clinical liability, defining what “good” AI governance looks like for providers deploying AI technologies in clinical care. Previously, Dr Hussain held senior leadership roles at the Care Quality Commission, including Director of Primary & Community Care and NHS England as Chair for Staffordshire & Shropshire Pharmacy LPN. His career spans frontline clinical practice as a GP Clinical Pharmacist, senior roles in medicines optimisation, community services and has expertise in AI, professional standards and medical law.
