Medical doctor: General medicine promoted in Louvain (Belgium), and tropical medicine in Antwerp. Joined pharma after7 years in clinical practice (general surgery), initially in Belgium (Sanofi) with focus on thrombosis and haemostasis. In 1995 moved to international medical affairs: haemato-oncology and infectious diseases (invasive fungal infections and HIV-AIDS) with Gilead. From 2006 till mid 2023: global medical affairs in neuro-immunology (mainly Multiple Sclerosis) with Biogen, Genzyme and Roche. Retired (but still active) since August 2023.
