Principal Scientist - AstraZeneca
Andrew Buchanan is an effective discovery & preclinical leader, contributing to 18 antibody-based drugs entering first in human clinical studies, of which three are marketed products. He is an excellent multidisciplinary team leader with 25 years of experience in commercial R&D. He has led teams responsible for platform technologies and drug pipeline delivery. His current focus is on AI/ML for biologics, targeting technology and related science innovation, including leading academic and industry collaborations. He was elected Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry in 2020, and with colleagues, postdocs, and PhD students, contributed to over 40 original manuscripts and patents.
