Head of Global Statistics - Almirall

Meritxell Falqués have a degree in Statistics (MSc) from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC), Barcelona. After she working as statistician in the Biostatistics and Epidemiology department at Hospital Clínic de Barcelona for 1 year, and as a Data manager and statistician in a CRO (Biometrika) for 5 years, She joined Almirall as statistician in 2001. She was focused in providing statistical support throughout the whole clinical development process of Almirall drugs (from First in Man trials to drug approval).

She has been the statistician responsible for the approvals of different Almirall drugs, mainly focused in dermatology diseases.

Currently she is responsible for the statistical group, within the Almirall Global Development department (R&D). (1) Ensuring that the most efficient statistical methodology is applied in all the planned Clinical Trials and to guarantee that the final products (Protocol, Statistical Analysis Plan, Statistical Report and Final Clinical Study Report) achieve the highest standard quality. (2) To provide the best statistical support across the whole clinical development of each medicine And finally, (3) to provide the most efficient statistical input/support to all other Almirall departments, when needed
