Digital Tools, Real Risk: Securing Patient Safety and Clinical Trials Processes at the Edge

Digital tools are transforming clinical trials, but they also introduce risks that extend far beyond IT. This session examines how emerging technologies, including AI, impact patient safety, data integrity, and sponsor liability. Participants will learn how to approach the procurement and use of AI with an ethical, risk-based mindset, evaluating systems not just for performance but for transparency, bias, and regulatory alignment. The session also reframes cybersecurity of devices as a patient safety issue, highlighting how vulnerabilities can affect trial outcomes and organizational risk. By linking smarter procurement with stronger safeguards, this session helps leaders navigate innovation without compromising trust or safety.
