Alexis Molina

Director of Artificial Intelligence - Nostrum Biodiscovery

With a keen interest in fundamental biological problems, he started his work at the Structural Bioinformatics Laboratory at PRBB, focusing on protein folding and drug-drug interactions. In 2019, he joined the Barcelona Supercomputing Center, collaborating with Prof. Victor Guallar on projects involving binding affinity prediction and generative modelling of molecules and proteins, working closely with pharmaceutical companies.

In 2021, he joined Nostrum Biodiscovery as the Director of AI, where he now concentrates on developing innovative technologies in graph learning and language processing to improve drug discovery and protein design.

Apart from his research and industry contributions, he also holds an Associate Professor position in programming, algorithms, and artificial intelligence at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya.
